Sega Mega CD 2: Fixing A Common Issue

This was a nice, simple job. A customer sent me his Sega Mega CD 2 console set that was not working. The Mega Drive 2 was working fine with cartridges, but the Mega CD2 was not showing any signs if life. I’ve encountered this issue several times. I know it could be as simple as replacing a blown fuse on the motherboard.
On this revision of the Mega CD2, the input power fuse is located on the underside of the motherboard. Its easy to check if its blown by using a multimeter in continuity mode. Sure enough it was blown. I removed and replaced with a standard pico 2.5A fuse I use as replacement on Sega CD version 1 and 2.
After reassembling the console it started up perfectly and I was able to play test it for some time. Thunderhawk is still such a great game by the way.
Ready to return to the customer.
