Nintendo N64 Pokémon Editions RGB mod

I recently got sent a pair of PAL N64’s for RGB modding. Both Pokémon special editions. As with all PAL units, new RGB encoder is needed to be installed. My preferred mod is the N64RGB by etim.

Both consoles needed the fine pitch NUS adapter ribbon to connect the video encoder to the RGB mod board. the installs went perfectly. I’ve installed so many of these boards, but this was the first time having the Pokémon edition on my workbench.

Apart from the big happy Pikachu on the front, the rest of the console is more or less the same. The exception if the heat shield that covers the main IC. Mounting the digital video ribbon is a little harder. The other N64 (without the big Pikachu) was just the normal install method.
